If you’re made from human flesh and blood like me, you probably experienced some ups and downs lately.
But the external world doesn’t need to bring you to your knees every time 💩 hits the fan!
I started making significant changes about two months ago. My highly sensitive nature stabilized and, in turn, made me more resilient and even optimistic.
I boiled it down to four effective hacks that might not be easy to implement initially, but they work better than magic pills!
1. Revamp your nutrition by implementing three changes.
- Moderate your alcohol. This is individual to each person, based on your weight, age, and ability to break down alcohol. We aim for relaxation and intensifying joy, not depression, soon after. Troubles thinking clearly or weird anxiety bouts the next day? You had too much.
- Watch your glucose by starting your meals with fiber, not sugars or starches. According to the Glucose Goddess Jessie Inchauspé, sweet snacks or fruit without protein raise blood sugar, and elevated blood sugar equals irritability. Do you want to be moody?
Try munching on something nutritious and savory instead. Save the sugars, yes, even a piece of fruit for a dessert. 🧁
- Cut down on caffeine. Caffeine can be a euphoric stimulant. That hit of energy can feel so good. But it can create emotional upheavals and also angry bouts. Did you know that the liver meridian corresponds with the emotion of anger? Don’t overload your liver with stimulants, depressants, and toxins, and see how much calmer you’ll feel. You don’t have to eliminate caffeine to feel more stable overall, but timing is everything. I love an espresso now and again after I’ve eaten. And not less than 8 hours before bedtime.
2. Move your body every day. Walk, dance, run, take the stairs. A walk in nature can clear your head like a lobotomy! 😎
3. Spend some time alone. Get to know your essence to clarify who you are, what you need, and what you came here for. I recommend journaling, reading self-help books, cooking for yourself, traveling solo, and creatively expressing yourself - your passions are within you, but you have to keep doing them!
4. Attract the right community and love by being love itself. Understand others before you seek to be understood. Don’t make assumptions; listen and be there for others. I’m not in a romantic relationship, yet I feel so nourished by authentic friendships, connections, and taking care of my clients. 💆♂️
What holistic health consists of is proper nutrition, movement, creative expression, and community.
I hope this works for you, too!
With Love,
Pavlina
